Previous Trainings and Workshops Include
Brief Therapy for Meaningful Change
This 1-Day Training offers participants an engaging, positive and impactful introduction to very brief interventions with youth. Content includes a discussion of how, when and where brief therapy can be implemented in order to maximize youth engagement.
Using the principals and techniques of Solution Focused Brief Therapy, participants gain knowledge and practice in the art of asking powerful questions to youth struggling with a range of mental health challenges. These techniques allow youth to become more empowered, hopeful, active and involved in the process of moving forward with their lives in a meaningful way.
Single Session Therapy
Whether by chance or by intention, the increased demand for cost efficient, responsive, and effective counselling services has led to an exploration of alternative service delivery models to meet the needs of service users. Single Session Therapy (SST) represents a clinically effective option that is flexible, responsive and easily accessed.
This workshop offers participants an engaging, positive and impactful introduction to SST. Using the principals and techniques of Solution Focused Brief Therapy, participants gain knowledge and practice in the art of asking powerful questions to service users struggling with a range of mental health challenges.
Doing the Best You Can with What You Have: How to cultivate hope in any conversation
Front-line practitioners all want the best for their clients, but it can be challenging to feel helpful when faced with limited time, resources, or less-than-ideal situations.
This workshop explores what it takes to be clinically effective regardless of the time available, setting, or presenting problem. Drawing on the research surrounding Hope Theory (Snyder, 1994), practitioners are invited to consider hope as an “active ingredient” in helpful conversations and to discuss how to cultivate hope more intentionally in their work and themselves.
